Rocla supplies automation to Bring Logistics in Norway
Rocla will supply five automated VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) warehouse trucks for Bring Logistics in Norway for their warehouse in Berger, near Oslo. The newly built 32 000 square meter Skedsmo Logistic Center will open in the spring of 2010.
The very narrow aisle racking area where the vehicles will operate contains a total of 81 200 pallet places up to the height of 10,65 meters. The first delivery will take place in the beginning of 2010 and there is an option for more vehicles.
–We operate five days a week in two shifts. Automating pallet handling was a more cost efficient solution than using a manual solution, explains Mr. Geir Nielsen, Logistic Director of Bring Logistics.
– We chose Rocla because Rocla was able to offer a proven technology concept to fit our demands regarding safety and function, he adds.
Thanks to Rocla’s modular design and usage of standard components from company’s manual trucks the delivery time is shorter than in traditional automation projects. The tractor unit is standard, and the vehicles will be equipped with triplex masts and sideways telescopic forks used on Rocla’s manual narrow aisle truck.
- In the future I expect there to be more demand for automated pallet handling, explains Mr. Anselmi Immonen, the Director of Rocla’s Solution business. - Our automated solution can be implemented swiftly and without structural changes to the already existing warehouse, making automation a very interesting option, Immonen concludes.
